Greg Boyce    
Gregory H. Boyce
Greg Boyce is Peabody Energy’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was elected to the Board of Directors in March 2005, assumed responsibility as President and CEO on Jan. 1, 2006, and was elected Chairman of the board on Oct. 10, 2007. He joined Peabody in 2003 as President and Chief Operating Officer and has extensive U.S. and international management, operating and engineering experience.
 
Previously Greg served as Chief Executive Officer for Energy for Rio Tinto PLC. His prior positions include President and Chief Executive Officer of Kennecott Energy Company; President of Kennecott Minerals Company; and Director of Government and Public Affairs of Kennecott Corporation. He also served as Executive Assistant to the Vice Chairman of Standard Oil.
 
Greg's leadership positions include Vice Chairman of the World Coal Institute and Chair of the National Coal Council (NCC) Study for the council’s 2006 report, "Coal: America's Energy Future." He is also Co-Chairman of the Coal-Based Generation Stakeholders' Group and a member of the Coal Industry Advisory Board of the International Energy Agency. He is a Board member of the Business Roundtable, the Center for Energy and Economic Development (CEED) and the National Mining Association. Greg is a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association and a member of Civic Progress in St. Louis. He is member of the Advisory Council of the University of Arizona's Department of Mining and Geological Engineering, and the School of Engineering and Applied Science National Council at Washington University in St. Louis.
Sharon Fiehler    
Sharon D. Fiehler
Sharon Fiehler was named Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer in January 2008. She has executive responsibility for affirmative action, benefits, compensation, organizational and employee development, employee relations, facilities management services, flight services programs, information services and procurement.
 
Sharon has served in a series of roles in organizational and employee relations, compensation and salaried benefits since joining the company as Manager of Salary Administration in 1981. Since April 2002, she has held the position of Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Administration.
 
Sharon is on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of St. Louis and the Board of Trustees for the St. Louis Zoo. She is also Vice President of the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) Chancellor's Council.
Eric Ford    
Eric Ford
Eric Ford is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He joined Peabody in January 2007 and is responsible for global mining operations, along with areas of safety, operations improvement, engineering, and environmental and geological services.
 
Prior to joining Peabody, he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Anglo Coal Australia Pty Ltd. Eric has 35 years of extensive international management, operating and engineering experience in the industry.
 
Eric is Deputy Chairman and member of the Executive Committee of the Coal Industry Advisory Board of the International Energy Agency. He is also Vice Chairman and Director of the Minerals Council of Australia.
 
Rick Navarre    
Richard A. Navarre
Rick Navarre is President and Chief Commercial Officer for Peabody Energy. He has executive responsibility for Peabody's global sales and trading; business development; strategic planning, generation and Btu Conversion initiatives; resource development opportunities; international growth initiatives including China; business performance; and investor relations and corporate communications. He also will remain Chief Financial Officer until a successor is named.
 
With 25 years of financial and business experience, Rick has served as Chief Financial Officer since 1999. He joined the company in 1993 and has held a series of financial and commercial positions with the company, including executive responsibility for departments as diverse as Sales, Marketing, Trading and Transportation; Legal; Information Technology; Materials Management and Post-Mining Reclamation.
 
Rick is a member of the Hall of Fame of the College of Business at Southern Illinois University Carbondale; a member of the Board of Advisors of the College of Business and Administration and the School of Accountancy of Southern Illinois University Carbondale; a member of the International Business Advisory Board of the University of Missouri - St. Louis; a Director of the Missouri Historical Society; a Director of the United Way of Greater St. Louis; a member of Financial Executives International and the Civic Entrepreneurs Organization; and a former chairman of the Bituminous Coal Operators' Association.
Fred Plamer    
Fredrick D. Palmer
Fred Palmer is Senior Vice President of Government Relations. He joined Peabody in February 2001 and is responsible for advancing state and federal policies related to the production and use of coal. Prior to joining Peabody Energy, he served for 15 years as chief executive officer of Western Fuels Association, Inc. He most recently served as counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Shook Hardy & Bacon, a Kansas City-based law firm.
 
Fred is a 2004 recipient of the Erskine Ramsay Medal Award from the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, is a member of the National Coal Council's (NCC) Executive Committee and is Chairman of NCC's Coal Policy Committee. Fred is also Peabody's representative on the Board of Directors of the FutureGen Alliance.
Alex Schoch    
Alexander C. Schoch
Alex Schoch is Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. He joined Peabody in October 2006 with responsibility for all law and corporate secretary functions for Peabody Energy. Prior to joining Peabody, he most recently served as Vice President and General Counsel for Emerson Process Management.
 
Alex has 27 years of extensive corporate legal experience. His prior positions include various legal positions with Goodrich Corporation serving as Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Secretary. He also was an Attorney and International Attorney for Marathon Oil Company.
 
Alex is a member of the State, American and International Bar Associations and a member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, Texas and Ohio.
 
Roger Walcott    
Roger B. Walcott, Jr.
Roger Walcott was named Executive Vice President in January 2008 and is responsible for Australian operations leadership and shared services. He had previously served as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Services since May 2006 and Executive Vice President of Resource Management and Strategic Planning since July 2005. Roger joined the company in June 1998.
 
From 1981 to 1998, Roger was Senior Vice President and a Director of The Boston Consulting Group where he served clients in strategy and operational assignments. He also was Chairman of The Boston Consulting Group's Human Resource Capabilities Committee.
