New South Wales Operations

Peabody operates from three mine sites in New South Wales. These extend from the Hunter Valley coalfields west of Newcastle to the southern coalfields north of Wollongong.

New South Wales Operations - Wambo coal mine produces thermal coal and pulverized coal injection (PCI) coal for export and domestic markets
The Metropolitan Mine is an underground mine located 30 kilometers north of Wollongong near the township of Helensburgh that produces coking coal. 

The Wambo Mine is a combined open-cut and underground mine located 30 kilometers west of Singleton that produces thermal coal and pulverized coal injection (PCI) coal.

The Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 40 kilometers northeast of Mudgee that produces a high quality thermal coal.
