Greg Boyce    
Gregory H. Boyce
Greg Boyce is Peabody Energy's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was elected to the Board of Directors in March 2005, assumed responsibility as President and CEO on Jan. 1, 2006, and was elected Chairman of the board on Oct. 10, 2007. He joined Peabody in 2003 as President and Chief Operating Officer and has extensive U.S. and international management, operating and engineering experience.
 
Previously Greg served as Chief Executive Officer for Energy for Rio Tinto PLC. His prior positions include President and Chief Executive Officer of Kennecott Energy Company; President of Kennecott Minerals Company; and Director of Government and Public Affairs of Kennecott Corporation. He also served as Executive Assistant to the Vice Chairman of Standard Oil.
 
His leadership positions include Vice Chairman of the National Mining Association, membership in the National Coal Council (NCC) and Study Chair of the council's report, "Coal: America's Energy Future." He is a member of the Board of Directors of Marathon Oil Corporation. He is a board member of the Coal Industry Advisory Board of the International Energy Agency, the Business Roundtable and the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE). In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the Advisory Council of the University of Arizona's Department of Mining and Geological Engineering.
Mike Crews    
Michael C. Crews
Mike Crews was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Peabody Energy in June 2008. He has executive responsibility for the company's financial and accounting functions, including treasury, insurance, risk management, accounting, financial reporting, tax, strategic and financial planning, forecasting, capital management and budgeting.
 
Mike has over 20 years of financial experience and an extensive background with Peabody. He joined Peabody in 1998 as Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. He has served as Assistant Corporate Controller; Director of Planning; Assistant Treasurer; and, most recently, Vice President of Operations Planning.
 
Prior to joining Peabody, Mike served for three years in financial positions with MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. and six years at KPMG Peat Marwick in St. Louis. Mike serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Howard Park Center in St. Louis. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Missouri at Columbia and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Sharon Fiehler    
Sharon D. Fiehler
Sharon Fiehler has served on the company's senior executive team since April 2003. She has executive responsibility for Human Resources, Information Technology, Security, Facilities Management and Flight Services.
 
Sharon is a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis; on the Board of Trustees for Missouri Botanical Garden; is the Chair for the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley, Inc.; is a member of the Board of Directors for the Saint Louis Zoo Association; and is President of the Chancellor's Council at University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is a recipient of the 2005 Most Influential Business Women Award, the 2008 St. Louis YWCA Leader of Distinction Award and the 2010 LOGOS School St. Louis' Women of Distinction Award. She is also a member of the Missouri Women's Forum and the St. Louis Forum.
Eric Ford    
Eric Ford
Eric Ford is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In his current role, he is responsible for all of the company's global mining operations, as well as the areas of safety, operations improvement, engineering, and environmental and geologic services.
 
Eric joined the company in January 2007 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Peabody, he served six years with Anglo Coal Australia Pty Ltd. as Chief Executive Officer.
 
Eric was Deputy Chairman and a member of the Executive Committee of the Coal Industry Advisory Board of the International Energy Agency and Vice Chairman and Director of the Minerals Council of Australia. He holds a Master of Management Sciences from Imperial College in London, England as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
 
Rick Navarre    
Richard A. Navarre
Rick Navarre was named President and Chief Commercial Officer for Peabody Energy in January 2008. He has executive responsibility for Peabody's global sales and trading; business development; international growth initiatives; and business performance.
 
With more than 25 years of financial and business experience, Rick served as Peabody's Chief Financial Officer from 1999 through 2008. He joined the company in 1993 and has held a series of financial and commercial positions with the company, including executive responsibility for departments as diverse as Sales, Marketing, Trading and Transportation; Legal; Information Technology; Materials Management; Post-Mining Reclamation; Resource Management; and Investor Relations and Corporate Communications.
 
Rick is a member of the Hall of Fame of the College of Business at Southern Illinois University Carbondale; a member of the Board of Advisors of the College of Business and Administration and the School of Accountancy of Southern Illinois University Carbondale; a member of the International Business Advisory Board of the University of Missouri-St. Louis; a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Chamber and Growth Association of St. Louis; a member of Financial Executives International and the Civic Entrepreneurs Organization; a Director of the United Way of Greater St. Louis; a Vice Chair of the Missouri Historical Society and a former chairman of the Bituminous Coal Operators' Association.
Fred Plamer    
Fredrick D. Palmer
Fred Palmer is Senior Vice President of Government Relations. He joined Peabody in February 2001 and is responsible for advancing government policies around the globe to unlock the potential for coal as the world's future fuel. Prior to joining Peabody Energy, he served for 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of Western Fuels Association, Inc. He most recently served as counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Shook Hardy & Bacon, a Kansas City-based law firm.
 
Fred is the 2004 recipient of the Erskine Ramsay Medal Award from the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME). He is a member of the National Coal Council, Executive Committee and Chairman, Coal Policy Committee. He is Peabody Energy's representative and on the Board of Directors of FutureGen Alliance, as well as on the Board of Directors of the World Coal Institute. Additionally, he is a member of the California and D.C. Bar Associations.
 
Fred attended the University of Arizona: Bachelor of Arts, 1966; Juris Doctorate with honors, 1969; Order of the Coif, 1969: Symposium Editor Arizona Law Review. He served as Staff Assistant to Congressman Morris K. Udall, 1969-1971.
Alex Schoch    
Alexander C. Schoch
Alex Schoch is Executive Vice President Law, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Peabody Energy. He joined Peabody in October 2006 with responsibility for all law and corporate secretary functions. Prior to joining Peabody, he most recently served as Vice President and General Counsel for Emerson Process Management.
 
Alex has over 30 years of extensive corporate legal experience. His prior positions include various legal positions with Goodrich Corporation serving as Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Secretary. Earlier in his career he worked for Marathon Oil Company as an attorney in its international exploration and production division.
 
Alex is a member of the American and International Bar Associations, as well as the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI Law Council, the National Mining Association and the National Association of Corporate Directors. He serves as a Trustee at Large on the Board of Trustees for the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. He previously served as the Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Aerospace Industries of America.
 
Alex received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Kenyon College and his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, Missouri, Ohio and Texas.
Vic Svec    
Vic Svec
Vic Svec is Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for Peabody Energy. He has executive responsibility for the company's investor relations, media relations, employee communications and community relations.
 
Vic has 18 years of experience in the coal industry. He previously served as Vice President of Public and Investor Relations for Peabody Energy from April 2002 to May 2006 as well as various communications positions with industry leaders Anheuser-Busch Companies and Brunswick Corporation.
 
Vic serves on the Communications Committee for the National Mining Association and the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. He is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute, the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. He serves on the Advisory Board of the International School of Business at St. Louis University, and the Board of Trustees of the St. Louis Science Center. Vic is a recipient of more than 50 investor relations and communications awards.
